Since the publication of the Vatican II document Sancrosanctum Concilium, a document focused on carrying out as the themes of Vatican II, and the Cardinal Ratzinger’s theological publication Communio, which emphasized the importance of continuity of the Catholic Tradition, there as been some confusion in the Church around the two seemingly divergent ideas: continuity vs. change.
