First Communion Class: November 2018
In the first communion class, there are 12 children, all sowers of bean seeds. Every week, each child and bean plant grows quickly. Before class, our parish youngsters read a Bible story such as “loaves and fishes,” “Martha and Mary,” or “The Poor woman’s gift.” Then during seminar, children explain Jesus’ lessons by looking at religious art, sculpture, and early Christian tile mosaics. Finally our little scholars connect each story to a part of the Mass. Class leaders, Tatiana and Maria Aroca-Ouellette, happily watch all the graces before us, as our imaginative & witty communicants ask big questions and grow in faith. And after class, there is always pink lemonade and cookies.
