Catholic Clubs at UBC

Newman Club

The Newman Catholic Club is the association for Catholic Students at UBC, Corpus Christi College and St. Mark’s College. Its goal is to form community and give students the opportunity to connect with Catholic peers on campus and explore their faith in a university environment. There are chapters of the Newman Club on university campuses across North America. To learn more about Cardinal Newman, you may wish to read the words of Pope John Paul II. The Newman Club has been meeting on the site of St. Mark’s College since 1958, but has been in existence since 1926. Contact them here.

In St. Mark’s Parish, the Newman Club is an important presence and support to Parish activities such as the Wednesday student masses, and in helping to bring UBC clubs and Christian communities together by hosting events such as the Ecumencial Prayer meeting during the week of Christian Unity, Eucharistic Adoration, Rosary, and much more!

The Newman Association of Vancouver

Founded by the alumni of the UBC Newman Club, we are a Catholic organization focused on religious, intellectual, and social activities in the public sphere.

Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO)

Catholic Christian Outreach is a university student movement at UBC dedicated to evangelization. Meeting on campus for faith studies, and at St. Mark’s for the Sacraments, CCO is building leaders for the renewal of the world. Available at UBC, SFU, and nine other campuses in Canada, CCO offers leadership training, faith studies, and events. For more information visit and like them on Facebook.

Couples for Christ – Youth

Couples for Christ-Youth (CFC-Youth) is the youth arm of Couples for Christ (CFC) Global Mission Foundation, a Catholic Charismatic lay movement officially recognized by the Vatican. CFC-Youth, aside from being present in parish communities and high schools, is present on universities to answer the call of “being and bringing Christ wherever they are” (Vision Statement).

On campus, the CFC-Youth club pastors and empowers university-aged young adults through events such as general assemblies and small-group gatherings, both composed of fellowship, praise and worship, talks, and discussion. These events are fun environments to build friendships and to grow in faith and discover God and His love. For more information, email cfcyouthubc@gmail.com.

UBC Catholic Korean Student Club

The UBC Catholic Korean Student Club’s goal is to gather Korean-speaking Catholic students for weekly faith sharing, Bible study, twice monthly Mass & fellowship.
