Service opportunities

Service opportunities are available in the following ministries.  Specifically we are looking for volunteers in:

Sacramental Preparation

     – First Communion/Confirmation Preparation:  Secondary instructor needed to help with prepare sessions or to provide the session in the event of instructor absence

Liturgy

Greeters

    – A greeter offers a warm welcome, creating a first impression of hospitality, belonging, and openness.

Extraordinary Ministries

    – Lectors, Altar servers, Eucharistic Ministers are welcome to join for all masses

Music Ministry

    – We are always welcoming instrumentalists and vocalists to join our music ministry for the 9:30am, 11:30am, and 4:30pm masses.

Technical

    – Sound tech, Zoom/live streaming

     – Service of food and snacks after Sunday masses (9:30am, 11:30am and 4:30pm), setup and cleanup of Plato’s cave .  Read more here….

Social Service

     – Visitation of the long term care patients at Purdy Pavillion on the UBC Campus and of patients at St. John’s Hospice.  

Volunteer Screening

To ensure the safety of our community, especially the vulnerable, minors and the volunteer themselves, we require the volunteers undergo a brief training session and screening.  For more information, please contact the Parish Office.
